M.V. “Mark” OLIPHANT is a triple-threat entertainer (actor, singer, voiceover artist) based in Atlanta, GA who has appeared in television and stage plays in a span of 20 years. Among his film credits include:

A native of Augusta, GA (by way of neighboring rural town of Wrens, GA) MV began his acting career in 1994 (3 years after receiving his degree from Morehouse College) with a self-written and produced one-man monologue entitled “The Choice is Yours” he presented at native home church Broadway Baptist in 1994, which led to stage debut lead role in a murder mystery play "A House Without Windows" directed by his mentor - actress/writer the late Maxine Barnett-Nesbitt (In the Heat of the Night, Murder in Mississippi and Skeleton Key) and the late J.C. Taylor (former drama instructor for Paine College in Augusta).
Other stage productions MV performed includes HALEY (autobiographical musical play based on the life of Gospel legend Mahalia Jackson); comedy production “When A Man Loves a Woman;” a daring portrayal of satan in the Good Friday/Easter production “Resurrection: Morning Glory” in at his church Fountain of Faith Church in Riverdale, GA; a choir director in a musical stage production ACAPPELLA THE MUSICAL; a homeless Gulf War veteran suffering from PTSD in "The Face of Homeless", a comedy/drama stage about marriage in the play "One in the Spirit," and a Christmas Holiday parody "Who's Holiday Is It Anyway" directed by actor & Morehouse classmate Thom Scott II (American Soul, Saints & Sinners)
In 2003, MV began his journey growing as a television and film actor, starting as a film extra in a number of films and shows including "Lottery Ticket," Tyler Perry's "House of Payne" and "Haves and Have Nots", then later performed behind-the-camera work as a stand-in/body double for a number of actors including Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Wendell Pierce, GregAlan Williams, and LeVan “Curtis Payne” Davis of Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.”
M.V. appears as co-star in a number of up-and-coming independent films, some which appeared a number of film festivals across the country, namely:
** DIRTY SOUTH HOUSE ARREST (produced by Daphne Pittman-Hayes co-starring with comedian/actors Rodney Perry, Pierre, DC Yung Fly & Emmanuel Hudson) featured in the 2017 Black Hollywood Film Festival in Marina del Ray, CA & currently available on video-on-demand.
** PROJECT ISISX (produced by Richard Tavernaro) - An action picture currently available on Amazon Prime which has earned the "Award of Excellence" in the 2019 LaJolla Film Festival in LaJolla, CA.
** MARCH (produced by Richard A. Worthy) a sci-fi feature film which has been screened in a number of film festivals, including the Black History International Film Festival in Jamaica Queens, NY, the Cobb International Film Festival, the Las Vegas Black Film Festival, the Summer in the South Film Festival, and the upcoming 2021 Madrid International Film Festival in Madrid, Spain (receiving four award nominations).
M.V. made his directorial debut as an assistant director of music videos of two Atlanta-based recording artists DUKES OF DANVILLE (13th Floor - 2013) & ELI REVEL (Just Move It - 2013); He also made his debut as a co-producer in a comedy film titled "ORDER UP" (which he also co-starred) and a comedy series titled "THE SHOP"currently being pitched to video-on-demand networks.
In 2018, M.V.'S career reached a new plateau when he was named one of the honorees in the ATL film & television community at the 2nd annual ATL ACTORS AWARDS. He was among a group of Atlanta-based actors recognized by ChillZone Entertainment for their respective career achievements.
MV has received sitcom acting and theatrical training under some of the most acclaimed actors in the entertainment industry, including KIM FIELDS (Living Single, Facts of Life), CHIP FIELDS-HURD (Good Times, Living Single), CLIFTON POWELL (Friday movie sequel, Ray, Saints and Sinners), the late TOMMY FORD (Martin, Harlem Nights) TERRI J. VAUGHN (Meet the Browns, Steve Harvey Show), GREGALAN WILLIAMS (Greenleaf, Baywatch, Remember the Titans, Preacher's Kid) and Hollywood acting coach TROY ROWLAND.
M.V. Oliphant is a life member of both the Morehouse College National Alumni Association (1991 graduate) and the Thomas Walter Josey High School Alumni Foundation (1985 graduate, Augusta, GA). He is also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, in which he was initiated through Psi Omega chapter in Augusta, GA on July 10, 1999. He is also a past member of the Central Savannah River Area Football Classic Board of DIrectors in Augusta (1997- 1998), the Male Room Foundation Mentoring program (1997-1998) & Be More Positive Youth Enrichment Curriculum Program (2001 to 2018).
